Vince's interest in martial
arts began in the early 70's. He took his first "official" karate
class at the Boy's Club in Dothan, Alabama in 1975.
Vince's first exposure to Kung Fu was during his sophomore year at the
University of South Alabama. He graduated from College with a Psychology
degree and a first degree black belt in Shaolin Ngor Chor from Sifu John
Graham in 1985.
Over the next few years, Vince trained and experimented with several different
martial arts (tae kwon do, jeet kune do and Russian sambo). These left him
unfulfilled and unsatisfied with the martial arts scene in his area.
Through a quirk of fate he was directed to the CSC Marietta in 1995 and
began training with Master Reid, earning his first degree black belt
in 1998.
He began assisting master Reid by teaching classes in the Youth and Adult
programs at the CSC Marietta and later earned his teaching certification
in kung fu.
Vince conceptualized, created and initiated Club Rome. The first "private" CSC
Club in Georgia in 2000.
The Club is currently located at the Rome-Floyd County YMCA and offers
classes two nights per week.
