Lineage
The system taught at the Chinese Shaolin Centers traces it's origin to the last Grandmaster of Fukien Temple. After the burning of Fukien Temple in the early 1900s Great Great Grandmaster Su Kong Djion fled into the mountains where he continued the traditions of Shaolin and eventually passed on his Grandmaster Title to Great Grandmaster Ie Chang Ming who subsequently left China and took up Residence in Bangdung, Indonesia. Here at age 5 he accepted Sin Kwang The' as a student, trained him privately and at age 25 passed on to him the Grandmaster titles of Shaolin.
Grandmaster The' arrived in the USA in 1964 and has trained thousands of students and now the art is taught across the USA and internationally. Senior Master Gary Grooms, a private student of Grand Master The', opened the first Chinese Shaolin Center in Atlanta, GA in 1986. Since that time the Chinese Shaolin Centers have grown to include multiple school and club locations throughout Georgia.
